I had an unfinished kitchen for just over a year. I have had the worst luck with contractors. Before Ian, I started a remodel. The contractor demolished the kitchen, started some work, and the company dissolved. I lost a lot of money. I hired a second contractor to come clean up the work and began noticing little things that they were doing to cut corners and cover up things after the storm to speed up the project — which was already 9 months running. When I confronted the GC he blamed the contractor before him and eventually pulled out of the project, gave me the remainder of my money back but left everything unfinished and/or incorrectly finished. I honestly just wanted to sell my house “as-is” and be done with it because of the effort, time and money required to redo the kitchen correctly and what I already had invested. I met Dustin Gardner through a mutual friend and found out in conversation what he did. I naturally told my nightmare contractor story and revealed to him I had an unfinished kitchen for over a year due to the inadequacies of a few “reputable” contractors who came highly recommended. Schooner Bay stepped up. The next day!!! I had not one but two project managers at my house, discussing the best approach to handle the project. They came up with a plan and 3 WEEKS later I had my kitchen. I have never been around such friendly and professional people. They kept me updated, answered questions, and clearly felt my frustrations. 10/10 would recommend!!

After my parents' home was damaged during Ian, it was hard to find a reliable contractor to take care of the damage in the house. My senior citizen parents didn’t even know where to begin, I was thrilled to see that Schooner Bay Builders was offering remodels. I know many of the people that work there are local Graduates of NFM, Cape, and Mariner, and have built a reputable realty office in the area. I contacted them and had someone out to my parents' home to inspect and then work with the insurance companies to make sure most of the damages were covered. Very timely and professional, got repairs done on a corner of our building that’s aluminum and almost everyone I called could not complete this job for us. Our company is an hour and 30 minutes away from this building. These guys were able to handle everything in one week without ever having to meet with anyone once. Special thanks to Kristen on handling this for us and to the contractors on handling this in a quick and easy manner. Had a hiccup with the delivery of materials and we got it handled the next day at a fair and reasonable price. Would highly recommend this company. My wife and I were over paying rent and looking for a place to call our own, raise our kids, and share with the people we love most. As pastors of a church, we have people over often and use our home for others. As we were looking for homes and narrowing down our choices, what really made the difference was the personal care and detail that the team at Schooner Bay was willing to put in to ensure we understood next steps and they genuinely cared about what we cared about. They worked with us every step of the way as if they were building the home for themselves.
I cannot say enough about the 5 star customer service experience or the attention to detail from every single team member from the Owners to the Project Managers to the Contractors on site. We could not be more happy with our home. The quality, the look, the options...and for all of that to come from a local trustworthy team is worth more than anything else to us. Might I suggest the Iris Model. Plenty of room for the family and great for entertaining.
We moved in a couple months ago, and Schooner Bay could move on because the transaction is over...but it's more than a transaction to them. They care about their customers. If you want a quality experience with a quality team. I couldn't suggest Schooner Bay any more! You won't be disappointed.
